Vault gives you the tools you need to manage all your chapter's finances! By keeping this information organized in Vault, you will be able to quickly and easily pull the information you need to file your chapter's 990. Follow our tips below to make sure your chapter is set up for success!
Ensure your Chapter's Fiscal Year and Tax ID is Correct
- Go to the Chapter Tab
- Select Chapter Detail
- Click the Pen Icon next to Tax Information to make any necessary edits
Make Purchases With Your Officer Purchasing Card
Making purchases with your Officer Purchasing Card allows you to easily assign expense account codes to your purchases which will pull into your Income and Expense Statement that is used for 990 Filing. Additionally, you can upload receipts for all your chapter's purchases and keep them organized and attached to their appropriate charge.

Update Your Checking Account Register in Vault
Under your chapter's checking account register, enter in all the transactions from your bank account under the Quick Entry Tab. Doing this will ensure that your income and expenses managed outside of Vault are still recorded when you go to file your 990.
- TIP: We recommend updating your Checking Account Register in Vault to match your bank statements monthly to make things more manageable!
Update Your Officer Listing
Your 990 requires you to list your current officers.
- Go to the Chapter Tab
- Click Officers
- Select Edit Officers to edit whatever positions need to be updated
