How do I confirm that my chapter is up to date on annual 990 tax return filings?

• First, make sure that you know when your organization's tax returns are due. This will help you know which returns should have been filed.  When is my chapter's Form 990 tax return due?
• Next, check the Vault Tax Filing page.  Go to Accounting>Accounting Tools>Tax Filings.  If OmegaFi has completed returns for your organization, you should see 990 reports listed under the heading 990 Reports. 
• Click the down arrow beside the paperclip in the Actions column.  You should see documents that are attached to the 990 Report for that year.  Under Completed Documents, look for a return pdf. 
• If there are no 990 reports on the Vault Tax Filing page, this means that OmegaFi has not filed returns for your chapter.  In this case, you will need to search the IRS website for this information. IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search.  Once you find your organization, you should be able to see recent returns filed.  My organization does not show up in the IRS database of exempt organizations.
