Merchant verification is the process of verifying a merchant's identity and legitimacy in order to process payments. It's a crucial part of the merchant onboarding process that helps prevent fraud and protect both the payment processor and customers. While it might seem complex, it is ultimately a good thing! The required processes and protocols demonstrate that ProPay (OmegaFi's payment processor) is meeting expectations by reviewing accounts and completing necessary verification when it identifies information that needs clarification.
Your chapter may get flagged for merchant validation (or verification), but that is not because you did anything wrong or for punishment. It is just a requirement to continue to be able to process payments. As soon as the information requested from Togetherwork's Payments Team is provided, and the account updated, your chapter should be able to continue regular operations.
